- Signal and Other Video Chat Apps Found to Have Some Major Security Flaws.
Vulnerabilities found in Signal, Google Duo, Facebook Messenger, and other messaging apps allowed attackers to listen in on users without their permission warned the security experts. “On January 29, 2019, a serious vulnerability was discovered in Group FaceTime which allowed an attacker to call a target and force the call to connect without user interaction from the target, allowing the attacker to listen to the target’s surroundings without their knowledge or consent,” quoted Natalie Silvanovich, a security engineer at Google’s Project Zero.
- India Dropped One Rank in Global Mobile Data Speeds in December.
India has dropped one rank for both mobile Internet speeds and fixed broadband speeds on Ookla’s Speedtest Global Index in December. The country reached the 129th position for mobile Internet speed and dropped to 65th for fixed broadband speeds.
Average mobile download speed of India has declined over 4.4 percent to 12.91Mbps from 13.51Mbps in November, according to the December 2020 data available on the Speedtest Global Index. However, average mobile upload speed has increased over 1.4 percent to 4.97Mbps from 4.90Mbps. The Latency rate in the country hit 51 milliseconds.
- FAU-G Crossed 4 Million Pre-registrations On Google Play Store.
Upcoming game FAU-G is all set to be launched on January 26. The game clocked more than four million pre-registrations on the Google Play Store last week, on January 14. It was listed on the Google Play Store in December last year, clocking 1 million registrations within 24 hours of being listed.
Though the Android version can be pre-registered on Google Play, the iOS version is not yet available but is likely to arrive with the game’s launch. According to the report, the game will also support low-end devices soon. According to the makers of the FAU-G, no other game in India has crossed 5 million pre-registrations to date, a feat they hope to achieve.
- Ola Teamed Up with Siemens To Build India's Most Advanced EV Factory.
On Wednesday Ola announced that it joined forces with Siemens to build India’s most advanced electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu. Last month, the popular ride-hailing platform signed a 2,400-crore deal with the Tamil Nadu government to set up its first factory in the state. Built on Industry 4.0 principles, it will be the most advanced manufacturing facility in the country with almost 5,000 robots deployed across various functions.
The factory will generate almost 10,000 jobs and with an initial capacity of 2 million units a year, being the largest scooter manufacturing facility in the world. It will serve as Ola’s global manufacturing hub catering to its customers in India as well as key markets across Europe, UK, Latin America, and ANZ.

Today, the tech giant Microsoft announced the availability of the Surface Laptop Go in India from 22 January. It will be available through commercially authorized resellers, authorized retail and online partners at a starting price of Rs 63,499. The company proclaims that this is their lightest and most affordable Surface laptop, yet offers the perfect balance of performance, battery life, and style.
The new Surface Laptop Go is powered by a 10th-Gen Intel Core i5-1035G1 processor and comes with Intel UHD graphics. It comes with a 12.45-inch PixelSense Display with a 3:2 aspect ratio and 1,536x1,024 pixels resolution. It can be equipped with 4GB, 8GB, or 16GB of LPDDR4x RAM. The base model carries 64GB of eMMC storage but comes with options for 128GB and 256GB SSDs.
