  • IIT Bombay Video Game Development Course Announced

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) has announced that they will collaborate with the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay to create a Centre for Excellence in gaming and in other related areas. The Centre for Excellence in gaming is a future-forward step by the government and IIT Bombay. Gaming in India is on the rise, and it is vital to give not just gamers, but also game creators, artists, and developers a platform where they can showcase their skill and put India on the global map. 


As of now, there are very few educational institutions that offer courses in Game Development and Game VFX. While you will be able to find a few, it is quite certain that the game development and other courses at IIT Bombay will be world class. In the recent past, several Indian made games have been gaining popularity.


  • Jio Became Biggest Buyer In 4G Spectrum Auction

The 4G telecom spectrum auction 2021 ended on March 2 with the government receiving bids worth Rs 77,814.80 crore. Bids worth Rs 668. 20 crore were made on the second day of the auction, which saw bids worth ₹77,146 crore on the first day. Reliance Jio emerged as the biggest buyer by acquiring a total of 488.35 MHz of spectrum for Rs 57,122.65 crore, followed by Bharti Airtel with 355.45 MHz at Rs 18,698.75 crore, and Vodafone Idea with 11.80 MHz for Rs 1,993.40 crore.


Out of 2308.80 MHz of spectrum put for auction, the government has received bids for 855.60 MHz. The 2300 MHz band turned out to be the most sought after with 89.29 percent spectrum being sold. Of 560 MHz spectrum put for auction under the 2300 MHz band, 500 MHz found takers.


  • Xiaomi Relaunched MITalk As A Clubhouse Clone For Android And iOS In China & India.

Earlier in January this 12 months, Xiaomi introduced plans to close down its messaging app MiTalk, ranging from the 19th of February. The Chinese tech big appears to have now resurrected the app as an audio chat platform in China to draw the Clubhouse viewers. This information comes solely a couple-odd weeks after Clubhouse bought blocked in china.

Audio chat is all the fad nowadays, because of Clubhouse, an audio-based social platform that’s trending amongst iPhone customers. The Android app is within the works proper now.   • Reliance Partnered With Google & Facebook For Digital Payment Network Bid.

India’s conglomerate Reliance Industries has partnered with Facebook, Google, and fintech player Infibeam to set up a national digital payment network. Last year, India’s central bank invited companies to forge new umbrella entities (NUEs) to create a payments network that would rival the system operated by the National Payments Council of India (NPCI), as it seeks to reduce concentration risks in the space.


Set up in 2008, NPCI is a not-for-profit company, which as of March 2019 counted dozens of banks as its shareholders, including the State Bank of India, citibank, and HBSC. It processes billions of dollars in payments daily via services that include inter-bank fund transfers, ATM transactions, and digital payments.
