  • Whatsapp Is Testing A New Layout For Media Sharing

WhatsApp started sending, on Thursday (25) a new update for users registered in the Beta program. From this update, the messenger test version reaches build number 2.21.5.4 on Android. It introduces a neat new layout for the media sharing menu.

The button for sharing photos has moved inside of the footer, the file sharing symbol has changed, and the user’s name has moved from the lower-left corner to the right end of the footer. The WA beta Team has gained access to the changes via the app’s source code, however the change will not show up even if your app is on version 2.21.5.4. The changes are most likely server side. It’s unknown when, or if, this feature will reach the public, as WhatsApp routinely adds and removes features before releasing a final public build. Additionally, the app started testing an option to silence video files before they’re sent, and a new logout option is being tested on iOS versions.
