- Xiaomi Unveiled MI Air Charge: A Truly Wireless Charging Experience as It Will Charge Your Smartphone Over the Air .
The Chinese tech giant Xiaomi has just announced its new wireless charging technology. The Mi Air Charge with a claim that it can charge devices “within a radius of several meters” as a step up in its wireless charging game. As per the Chinese company, material obstacles won’t affect the charging capability. In addition, it can be utilized to charge multiple devices simultaneously at 5W. With the new Mi Air Charge, it tries bringing about a truly wireless charging experience as it will charge your smartphone over the air. True wireless charging has been achieved by the company using a “self-isolated charging pile” that has “five-phase interference antennas built-in” which will transmit millimeter wide waves to the smartphone. These antennas will be capable to detect the location of the smartphone accurately.
These smartphones need to be equipped with Xiaomi’s miniaturized antenna array that will have a built-in “beacon antenna” and “receiving antenna array.” The beacon antenna will broadcast the information about the smartphone’s position. Whereas the receiving antenna will convert “the millimeter-wave signal emitted by the charging pile into electric energy through the rectifier circuit.” Xiaomi Global CEO Lei Jun revealed that the company is working on improving the Mi Air Charge Technology. There is no word on when the company releases the new tech as it was a demo. Plus, there are various factors to be considered before it hits the market.
- AutoX Launched Its Driverless Robotaxi Service in China .
On 28th January 2021, AutoX officially launched its driverless taxi service-RoboTaxi, in China. The service is currently in its pilot program and is present to the public in Shenzhen. AutoX has become the first in the country to offer public rides in autonomous vehicles without safety drivers. Self-driving taxis are capable of running on regular public roads in the city. Even execute “unprotected left turns at busy intersections, deals with a scooter running traffic lights, and more.”
At the moment, people interested in the pilot program can sign up through the AutoX RoboTaxi registration page. Once selected, the pilot users can use the AutoX membership credits as well for the RoboTaxi rides. These customer care agents will also be able to track the status of the vehicle in real-time to provide any necessary help. Through this system, the company guarantees seamless passenger support and communications. Currently, AutoX is operating over 100 RoboTaxis in the cities of Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Wuhan. This has enabled it to accumulate vast miles of road data in Asian cities. Especially ones with a high population density that suffer from challenging urban traffic conditions as well.
- India Planning to Introduce Law to Ban Bitcoin & Other Private Cryptocurrencies.
India plans to introduce a bill to ban all private cryptocurrencies in the country during the budget session of parliament that began on Friday. In the agenda published on the lower house website, the legislation looks to “prohibit all private cryptocurrencies in India.” But allow “for certain exceptions to promote the underlying technology of cryptocurrency and its uses." The law also looks to “create a facilitative framework for creation of the official digital currency.” That will be issued by the nation’s central bank, Reserve Bank of India, the agenda said.
The recent bill is likely to make things difficult for the cryptocurrency exchange owners. Sumit Gupta, co-founder and chief executive of CoinDCX said “Since the government is considering introducing the bill during this session of Parliament, we are sure the government will definitely listen to all the stakeholders before taking any decision.” Adding “We are talking to other stakeholders and will definitely initiate deeper dialogue with the government and showcase how we can actually create a healthy ecosystem in unison”.
- Youtube Testing A Feature That Will Allow You to Take A Clip from Streams and Videos to Share It.
YouTube is testing out a new feature that enables users to create and share small clips of live streams and videos. The Clips feature on YouTube allows users to select a 5-60 second segment of a creator’s content including live streams and videos and share it with others across platforms. Both Creators and signed in viewers can create Clips. It can be shared via a new URL on social media, email, text or can be embedded.
The feature is now available on the desktop and Android and it will arrive on iOS soon. It is currently in alpha testing and is available with only select creators. “If you’re viewing content from one of the channels in this experiment, you’ll see a clip icon under the video that will allow you to select a portion of the video that you want to clip. The clip will be played on the original video and loop repeatedly,” explained YouTube.
