Elon Musk-run SpaceX has managed to break the world record of the most number of satellites carried by a single rocket as Falcon 9 carried as many as 143 payloads into space on Sunday, January 24. The company launched the spacecraft as part of a SpaceX’s SmallSat Rideshare Program called Transporter-1 and the firm’s social media handles shared pictures from the launch. Falcon 9 which has taken part in numerous SpaceX missions in the past flew from Florida to take the 143 satellites of different shapes and sizes to their orbits.

“Falcon 9 launches 143 spacecraft to orbit — the most ever deployed on a single mission completing SpaceX’s first dedicated SmallSat Rideshare Program mission,” SpaceX tweeted. The previous record was held by the Indian Space Research Organization by deploying 104 satellites in a single launch in February 2017, as per reports. SpaceX's rideshare program provides the small satellite operators an “increased access” to space with a “reliable, affordable ride to orbit,” the company explained .

  • Android 12 May Bring Double Tap on Back Gesture Support.
In the initial releases of the Android 11 Developer Preview, it looked like Google was planning to add double-tap gesture support for Pixel phones and now, it appears the feature may arrive as part of Android 12. The double-tap gesture was originally slated to take over from the old Active Edge squeeze gesture on the Pixel 4 phones but was found to be too sensitive to work properly. Now it seems that those issues have been overcome. The double-tap could allow Pixel users to summon Google Assistant, it could also be used for different tasks such as dismissing a timer or snoozing an alarm, reports 9To5Google.

Android 12 double-tap feature would include the ability to adjust the sensitivity to only recognize ‘firm’ taps. "Alternatively, users can disable the double-tap feature,” the report said on Sunday. Users can also use the gesture to take a screenshot, pause or resume media playback, open the recent apps view, and open the notification panel. Considering the first Android 11 Developer Preview arrived in mid-February last year, one can expect the Android 12 preview to follow the same pattern.

  • Tesla Sued Former Employee for Allegedly Stealing Software .
American electric vehicle and clean energy-based company Tesla is suing a former employee for allegedly stealing company information. The company says software engineer Alex Khatilov stole files from Tesla’s internal network related to its Warp Drive software, used to automate many of the company’s business processes. Tesla alleges in the lawsuit that Khatilov moved files to his personal Dropbox account, and that he was one of only a few Tesla employees who had access to the files. They also accuse him of deleting possible evidence when security teams confronted him.

The code is of concern to Tesla because it could reveal to competitors “which systems Tesla believes are important and valuable to automate and how to automate them providing a roadmap to copy Tesla’s innovation,” the complaint says. Khatilov told on Friday that the software files ended up in his Dropbox by mistake. He was trying to make a backup copy of a folder on his computer, and unintentionally moved it to Dropbox. He was unaware Tesla was suing him until the newspaper reached out to him about the matter.
