Messaging platform Signal saw a surge in downloads this week after WhatsApp made a modification to its privacy policy. On Saturday morning, Signal tweeted that it had topped the list of free apps on Apple’s App Store in India. Following an endorsement by the world’s richest man Elon Musk, the messaging app saw a massive uptake in downloads. Due to the surge, Signal’s servers were unable to handle the influx and verification codes were delayed. However, that issue seems to be resolved.

Google’s official phone app, also called Google Phone, may soon allow users to automatically record calls from unknown numbers. Some Android phones come with the Phone app installed. It has a number of useful features that make it well regarded and this addition would further improve its functionality.
Initially available only on Google's flagship Pixel line of smartphones, Phone was made available to download for a handful of other phones in August last year. Among its features are caller ID beyond a user's contacts based on Google's information, warnings about suspected spam calls with the option to block them in the future, and the ability to filter out calls from unknown numbers. Visual voicemail, which is supported by certain carriers only, allows users to read transcripts and delete or save voicemails without needing to listen through them, a user's current location is provided to them during emergency calls.

Xiaomi has launched Mi 360 Home Security Camera 2K Pro and Mi Smart Clock in the European market. The Mi 360 Home Security Camera 2K Pro has upgraded AI and can make recordings at 1,269 pixels. This security camera comes with a dual noise cancellation mic. The Mi Smart clock has a color touch screen and also has features like digital photo frames, alarm clock, and smart assistant.
Mi 360 Home Security Camera 2K Pro is priced at 59.99 Euros (approx Rs. 5,400). It comes in a white color body. The Mi Smart Clock is priced at 49.99 Euros (approx Rs 4,500) and it also comes with a white exterior. For now,Xiomi has not yet announced about the release of these products in the Indian market.
The Mi 360 Home Security Camera 2K Pro comes with a 6P lens with an aperture of f/1.4.This camera can record at 1,296 pixels and makes a 360-degree pan-tilt-zoom. It has a 118-degree viewing angle so that it can cover more area in a single frame. The Mi camera has a 940-nm infrared light sensor for clean recording in low light.

Motorola has launched four new smartphones in the US market called the Moto G Stylus (2021), Moto G Power (2021), Moto G Play (2021), and the Motorola One 5G Ace. The company has launched the refresh models for this year with some significant changes. According to the company, these smartphones come with multiple RAM and storage configurations in multiple colours. The highlights of the smartphones are Qualcomm Snapdragon processors, cameras, and lot more among the others.
The Moto G Stylus (2021), Moto G Power (2021) and the Moto G Play (2021) is capable of offering two days and up to three days battery life respectively.
The Moto G Stylus (2021) in the US is priced at USD 299 (approx Rs 22,000) for the 4GB RAM and 128GB storage model
The Moto G Power (2021) comes with a starting price of USD 199 (approx Rs 14,700) for 3GB RAM + 32GB storage variant. The 4GB + 64GB storage model is up for sale at USD 249 (around Rs 18,300) in only Flash Grey colour option.
